The first section includes a general introduction to carbonates and the Barents Sea carbonates with references to the most important published work and updated with new information.

The second section comprise an overview of Barents Sea well results and well observations, where relevant seismic examples and spectral decomposition images are integrated.

The third section is on fractured carbonate reservoirs follows, with inspection of observed fracture systems in core photos and a few examples of global analogues to producing carbonate fields where the reservoir is fractured.
